Creamy Macaroni and Cheese Recipe


Make it tonight! Put supper on the table in less than an hour with this easy to make Creamy Macaroni and Cheese recipe.

Cook Time: 45 minutes
Yield: 8 servings

Ingredients:
- 1 pound gluten-free macaroni
- 2 tablespoons potato starch
- 3 tablespoons butter
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon dry mustard
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- dash garlic powder
- 4 cups evaporated milk
- 8 ounces sharp cheddar cheese, diced
- paprika

Instructions:
1. Preheat oven to 350°F.
2. Grease a 13 x 9 x 2 inch baking dish with butter, and then set aside.
3. Cook and drain gluten-free macaroni as directed on package.
4. While macaroni is cooking, in a small bowl combine potato starch, salt, dry mustard, onion powder, pepper and garlic powder, and then set aside.
5. In a Dutch oven over medium heat, melt butter.
6. Add potato starch mixture and cook for about 1 minute, stirring constantly.
7. Whisk in evaporated milk until sauce is smooth, about 1 minute.
8. Add diced cheese all at once, stirring constantly until sauce thickens and just comes to a strong simmer; stir constantly.
9. Cook for 1 minute more, stirring constantly.
10. Remove from heat and stir in drained macaroni.
11. Pour into a prepared baking dish.
12. Garnish top with paprika.
13. Cover with foil, sealing the edges.
14. Bake for 30 minutes or until heated through.

  1. Omit onion powder.
  2. Add 1/4 cup scraped and minced onion.

  4. Add 1/4 cup scraped and minced onion.

  7. Add 1 tablespoon tomato paste.
  8. Omit sharp cheddar cheese.
  9. Add 8 ounces shredded Mexican cheese blend.
