Over the years I've tried many a good commercially produced gluten free flour blend, and they usually work fine in most recipes . . .
. . . I have come to the conclusion gluten free flour mixes are a matter of personal taste, in my case, “family” pleasing.
My goal was to come up with a homemade gluten free flour mix that would substitute for all-purpose unbleached flour in most wheat based recipes with a ratio of one to one, meaning one cup of wheat flour can be substituted with one cup of gluten free flour blend.
In test after test, my homemade Gluten Free Flour Blend and mixes continue to outperform the others and remain the flour of choice in my family.

Prep Time: 15 minutes Yield:9 1/2 cups
- 5 cups whole grain brown rice flour
- 2 cups potato starch
- 1 cup brown rice protein powder
- 1 cup tapioca flour
- 1/2 cup nutritional yeast
- 3/4 teaspoon xanthan gum
1. Mix together in a large air-tight container and store at room temperature.
2. Use in your favorite gluten-free recipes.
