Impossible Taco Pie is our gluten-free take on Bisquick’s™ "Impossibly Easy Taco Pie", a quick and easy weeknight meal the whole family will enjoy!

There are so many meals you can make with this delicious and satisfying key recipe!

Impossible Taco Pie—Key Recipe to Quick & Easy Gluten Free Dinner Pies


Gluten-free Impossible Taco Pie is so quick and easy to make, it is a perfect recipe for kids who are learning how to cook.

Prep Time: 15 minutes
Cook Time: 30 minutes
Yield: 6 servings

Ingredients:
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 cup chopped onion
- 1 tablespoon Taco Seasoning Recipe
- 1/4 cup fresh cilantro, chopped
- 1 can chopped green chiles (4 ounces)
- 3 large eggs
- 1 1/4 cups milk (or milk substitute)
- 3/4 cup Homemade Gluten Free Biscuit Mix
- 1 cup cheddar cheese, shredded

Instructions:
1. Preheat oven to 400°F.
2. Grease a pie plate, and then set aside.
3. In a large skillet over medium heat, brown ground beef and cook onion until translucent.
4. Drain fat from meat mixture.
5. Stir in taco seasoning, cilantro and green chiles.
6. Spread meat mixture into prepared pie plate.
7. In a medium mixing bowl, beat eggs until frothy.
8. Blend in milk and biscuit mix until smooth.
9. Pour egg mixture over meat mixture in pie plate.
10. Spread shredded cheese over top.
11. Bake for 30 minutes or until knife inserted in center comes out clean.
12. Remove from oven and let set up 10 minutes before serving.

Impossible Pie Basic Recipe

Ingredients

  • 1 pound chopped or ground meat of your choice
  • 1 cup chopped onion, cooked
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon black pepper
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 1/2 cups milk (or milk substitute)
  • 3/4 cup Homemade Gluten Free Biscuit Mix

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F.
  2. Grease a pie plate, and then set aside.
  3. In a large skillet over medium heat, brown meat and cook onion until translucent.
  4. Drain fat from meat mixture, if needed.
  5. Stir in salt and pepper.
  6. Spread meat mixture into prepared pie plate.
  7. In a medium mixing bowl, beat eggs until frothy.
  8. Blend in milk and biscuit mix until smooth.
  9. Pour egg mixture over meat mixture in pie plate.

Impossible Bacon Pie

  1. In bottom of prepared pie plate, evenly spread 12 slices bacon, crisped and crumbled.
  2. Layer on top of bacon, 1/2 cup chopped onion and 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese.
  3. Prepare egg mixture as directed in Impossible Pie Basic Recipe variation and pour over filling in pie plate.
  4. Bake as directed in key recipe.


Impossible Barbeque Beef Pie

  1. Prepare as directed in Impossible Pie Basic Recipe variation using ground or chopped beef.
  2. Stir into meat mixture, 1 chopped red bell pepper and 1/3 cup Homemade BBQ Sauce Recipe.
  3. Prepare egg mixture as directed in Impossible Pie Basic Recipe variation and pour over filling in pie plate.
  4. Spread 1 cup shredded cheese of your choice over top.
  5. Bake as directed in key recipe.


Impossible Cheeseburger Pie

  1. Prepare as directed in Impossible Pie Basic Recipe variation using ground beef.
  2. Prepare egg mixture as directed in Impossible Pie Basic Recipe variation and pour over filling in pie plate.
  3. Spread 1 cup shredded cheese of your choice over top.

  2. Stir into meat mixture, 1/4 cup diced cooked ham and 1/4 cup crumbled crisp bacon.

  4. Spread 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese of your choice over top.

  2. Stir into meat mixture, 1/2 cup diced roasted red bell peppers and 1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper.

  4. Sprinkle top with 1/2 cup crumbled feta cheese.

  1. Grease a standard muffin pan.
  2. Prepare the meat mixture as directed in Impossible Pie variation of your choice.
  3. Place 1/4 cup meat or filling mixture in each muffin cup.
  4. Prepare egg mixture as directed in Impossible Pie Basic Recipe variation and pour 2 tablespoons over filling in each muffin cup.
  5. Sprinkle tops with shredded cheese, if called for in recipe variation.
  6. Bake for 15 to 20 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean.
  7. Remove from oven and let set up 10 minutes before serving.


Impossible Pizza Pie

  1. Cover bottom of prepared pie plate with sliced pepperoni.
  2. Layer on top of pepperoni, 2/3 cup chopped onion and 1 cup shredded mozzarella.
  3. Prepare egg mixture as directed in Impossible Pie Basic Recipe variation and pour over filling in pie plate.
  4. Bake as directed in key recipe.
  5. Garnish top with warmed pizza sauce and grated Parmesan cheese.


Impossible Salmon & Asparagus Pie

  1. In bottom of prepared pie plate, evenly spread 1 pound chopped fresh asparagus spears, 1 cup chopped cooked salmon and 1/4 cup chopped scallions.
  2. Layer on top of filling, 1 cup shredded Swiss cheese.

  1. In bottom of prepared pie plate, layer 2 cups fresh baby spinach leaves, 1/4 cup chopped scallions and 1/2 cup crumbled feta cheese.
  2. Prepare egg mixture as directed in Impossible Pie Basic Recipe variation and pour over filling in pie plate.
  3. Bake as directed in key recipe.


Impossible Tamale Pie

  1. Prepare as directed in key recipe.
  2. Stir into meat mixture, 1 chopped fresh green bell pepper, 1 cup sliced black olives, and 1 cup frozen corn.
  3. Prepare egg mixture and pour over filling in pie plate.
  4. Sprinkle top with 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese.
  5. Bake as directed in key recipe.


Impossible Vegetable Pie

  1. Prepare egg mixture as directed in Impossible Pie Basic Recipe variation.
  2. Stir into egg mixture, 2 cups chopped cooked vegetable of your choice, 1/3 cup chopped cooked onion and 1/3 cup chopped cooked red bell pepper.
  3. Reduce salt to 1/2 teaspoon.
  4. Pour egg and vegetable mixture into prepared pie plate.
  5. Sprinkle top with 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese.
  6. Bake as directed in key recipe.

  • 250 ml cheddar cheese, shredded

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 200°C, Gas Mark 6.
  2. Grease a pie plate, and then set aside.
  3. In a large skillet over medium heat, brown ground beef and cook onion until translucent.
  4. Drain fat from meat mixture.
  5. Stir in taco seasoning, cilantro and green chiles.
  6. Spread meat mixture into prepared pie plate.
  7. In a medium mixing bowl, beat eggs until frothy.
  8. Blend in milk and biscuit mix until smooth.
